Walchand College of Engineering has been controlled and managed by a government-approved Administrative Council since 1956. The Administrative Council (AC) of Walchand College of Engineering was constituted on 22nd November 1956 as per the directives of Govt. of India vide letter No. F.4-2/54. T-4, dated 4th September 1956 and Govt. of the then State of Bombay vide letter No. PEC/1155/ 56344-K, dated 27th September 1956 for the administration and management of the institution. Walchand College of Engineering was granted academic, and administrative autonomy in 2007 vide letter dt.20-10-2006. The Administrative Council is the highest governing board before and after getting autonomy in 2006.
